The new player fees includes a county-wide $5 per participant fee. The non-resident fee is in addition to this.

Volunteer Coaches Always Needed

Just like any other recreation soccer season it is important that we have coaches to coach the teams. Without volunteer coaches recreation soccer would not be able to function and the amount of coaches available does affect the scheduling and  your child’s playing time oppurtunitites.  The more coaches we have allows for the recreation leagues to have more teams equaling to more playing time for your child. So if you have a love for the game or an interest in coaching soccer or you just want to make sure the kids have fun and a good soccer experience, please feel free to volunteer your services for the FALL 2011 season. Rather than charge admission as a movie theater would, we hope to have everyone purchase a DVD on the honor system. It is easier for us, cheaper for a family and you can keep it forever. Also, we would be humbled if each person in attendance might simply spread the word about the film & Stowe Strong and the message they both represent. This can be on Facebook, Twitter, Your Team’s Website, Your Team’s E-Newsletter, etc.

RISE & SHINE!

In addition to Joe Farrell’s full time job here at Chesterfield, he puts in work at Salem Middle School every fall adding an extra 4 training sessions to his already busy nights.  He is also involved with a local futsal league and does various “school nights” throughout the county’s elementary schools.

Matt Lacey, also full time with Chesterfield United, coaches at Bailey Bridge Middle School, and is now the assistant at Meadowbrook High School for this upcoming spring season.  Matt also has coordinated and hosted the USSF F and E licenses which has allowed Chesterfield United coaches the opportunity to improve their coaching education.  He will be going to get his USSF “C” License this summer.  Last summer he also managed to get his USSF “D” and his National Youth License. 

Dale Parker, the newest addition to the staff, recently landed the varsity boys job at LC Bird. In addition to his new high school coaching job, he has added a second Midnight Madness over the summer (stay tuned for dates and specifics). “It’s all about getting in front of the players and giving them opportunities to play more.   The fact that I can coach more will make me a better coach as well.”

Pat McStay, Director of Operations at Chesterfield, recently was voted President of VSL (Virginia Soccer League), received his NSCAA Premier Diploma, and will start as the head coach of the girls at Meadowbrook High School in a few weeks. “It’s about time on task and I think this club is doing a better job now than they have in the past with getting our players to play more.  I would like to thank the parents and players in the club for making the effort in the present and the future.”

The Chesterfield United Camps provide local players with great opportunities throughout the summer to improve their skills and have some fun!

“I am very excited about this year’s camp line up.” Commented Dale Parker, Chesterfield United’s Director of Youth Programs. “Our camps provide a unique opportunity for players of all levels to improve their skills and work with some of the best coaches in the area, and from around the world.”

The 2012 schedule kicks off with the Spring Break Camp in April, providing players with a soccer vacation week in the sunshine!

Back for 2012 is the popular All Girls Camp, along with our Speed/Agility/Fitness and Team Camps.  The Norwich City Camp also returns in 2012 providing local players with an amazing opportunity to work with professional coaches from English Premier League club, Norwich City FC.

New on the list for 2012 is the UT2 Camp, giving players the chance to work within our UT2 principals of technical training.  Along with the UT2 camp are several recreation camps throughout the summer, as well as Mini Puma Camps for our stars of the future! 

Lastly, our College Camp will provide yet another unique opportunity for older players, providing top level coaching by college coaches from several states.

This is a four day program design for our travel level players aged 8-14. This will be challenging but also lots of fun whilst developing specific soccer physical abilities.  In order to improve endurance and stamina the coaching staff will touch on the latest in footwork and agility, speed development, and running mechanics.

United FC Technical Staff strongly recommends this camp to all of our travel level players. This week long camp was developed to address the needs of our travel players ages 8-14 in preparation for the Spring 2012 season. Technical development is emphasized along with small sided and full sided games as well as functional position training. Players will be grouped based on their level of play and will compete in a fast paced atmosphere that simulates the game. Past United FC travel camps have been well attended and have provided a great atmosphere for teams to bond and to get a jump on the Spring season.
