The United Development Program will continue to help change the shape of youth soccer in the Spring of 2012. After studying the state of the game in the United States, Chesterfield United will continue to use the same system that is used by World soccer power Manchester United. Chesterfield United UDP program will continue to play 3v3 at the U6 age group and 5v5 with a Goalkeeper in the U8 age group to enhance the development of each player. The skill development of young players is the most important part of learning the game of soccer and through the studies of Manchester United it is proven that 4v4/5v5 is the way to move forward.
“Manchester United has produced some of the finest soccer players and teams in world history. So it only makes sense that we implement the same system that has been so successful for them.” commented Matt Lacey, Director of Player Development. “As a club we are always looking at ways to improve the club going forward and the correct development of our players is always high on our agenda. This is just another example of good things we are doing here at Chesterfield United.”
As always the UDP program is looking for players for the Spring 2012 season who to be part of this new innovative player development method. All that we ask is for children who are enthusiastic about soccer and have an interest in representing United FC Travel Teams in the future.
The primary goal of the program is to act as a transitional link between Recreational and Travel soccer, which will create the perfect learning environment for players to progress through the clubs stages of development.
If you would like your child to receive enhanced skills training and to be involved in an educational experience that inspires players to be creative, perform with confidence, and to have fun while improving their overall soccer game and taking it to the next level then sign up for the United Developmental Program.
“The United Developmental Program is a great way for young players to learn all the fundamental technical skills needed to play travel soccer in a fun environment” commented Matt Lacey, Director of Player Development. “This is a great way to continue the growth between Recreational and Travel soccer. We all feel here at the club that with this program the future is very bright for our young soccer players”.
Sessions for United Developmental Program teams will be held twice a week and will consist of age specific technical training and small sided scrimmages. Professional and Licensed coaches from within the United FC Staff will conduct all sessions and monitor the progress of each player.
There will be no try-outs required for this program.
